"Last Chance" List Contest

It's that time of year. On June 1st, Stampin' Up! will be releasing their "Last Chance" list, formerly known as the "Retiring List". As a demonstrator, I get the privilege of knowing the list of stamp sets that will no longer be available for sale as of July 1st. This will include the In Colours as well.

So....this brings me to my CONTEST!!!

Please e-mail me at meilani.z.smith@hotmail.com with your top 10 guesses of stamp sets from the current Spring/Summer 2009 catalogue that will retire (not including hostess sets) and receive the Darling Dots Level 1 hostess set plus free shipping with your next order with me.

The entrant with the highest number of correct guesses is the winner -- if there is a tie, then I will draw a name from those participants who have guessed the most.

Be sure to check back on Monday, June 1st to see the Last Chance List and the winner of the contest.

On a side note, if you have a favourite "In Colour" make sure to order your items now before they run out. Contact me for ordering details.

Crafting Again

Ahhhh, the in-laws have left and the hubby has gone to work in the Territories!!!!! I now have time to play. Hopefully, the little critter is feeling better tomorrow so I can drop him off at his daycare.

This is the anniversary card I had created today for my in-laws. Don't know if I will be giving it to my sister-in-law or my mother-in-law. Their anniversaries are one day apart. I'll be making the second one tonight...hopefully.

Ingredients:
Card Stock: Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Sweet Always
Die Cut: Birds and Blooms
Ink Pad: Only Orange
Marker: Really Rust
Stamp Set: Congrats
Other: Stampin Dimensionals, brad from Making Memories

Card for Swapping

On Monday, I attended my first Sea to Sky Stampers meeting. For those of us who wanted to swap cards we just had to make sure we made enough cards for everyone. Because I didn't have time to create a new card, due to a week and a half long visit from the in-laws (from Ontario-they will be leaving this Saturday), I decided to improve on the Mother's Day card that I had made for my friend. Here is the result.

I 'edge dabbed' the card and the Bigz Top Note die cut. I also put Crystal Effects on the flowers.

At the back, instead of the gift card, I inserted my business card. At the back of the business card is a list of the products used to make the card.

Cardstock: Pixie Pink, Whisper White
Classic Ink Pads: Pixie Pink, Pink Passion
Stamp Set: Eastern Blooms
Other: Bigz Top Note die cut, Whisper White 5/8" satin ribbon, Crystal Effects

I did learn a lesson from the swapping....I must do more layers. All of my cards that I have done in the past years have always been simple and less than 3 layers. I'll have to get myself out of that mindset and into this new one.

Flip Album

During the April 18th weekend, my friend and I went to a scrapbooking weekend retreat. I started on Brian's flip album and now I'm finally done....well sort of. I just have to write down the dates of the photos. This will be his Father's Day gift.

Need more embellishments?

Mother's Day Card

I made this mother's day card for a friend of mine. She's absolutely amazing and she's so good with Connor.

I didn't use the SU cardstock because I'm saving them so I used the cardstock that I already had in my stash.

I used the Top Note large die, folded it in half and wrapped it around the front of the card. The stamp is from the Eastern Blooms set.

Note to self: Do not use textured paper when stamping.
Inside, I glued the top and bottom of the Top Note so I can insert a gift card. Hopefully she doesn't read this blog before our playdate today.

All done.....sort of

Well, I'm finally done organizing my room....as much as I can. I'm pretty sure it will change again. The rack with the punches were inspired by Angela or maybe I should say her husband. You can check out her blog here.

I always try to keep the door closed but once Connor knows that I went in there, he run/crawls to the room. I have a computer table from IKEA underneath the main table so that wheels out to make another crafting area.

Notice how the bottom shelves are still not filled up....and all of you know why. The bookshelves were already there so instead of reinventing the wheel I made do with what I had. It worked out really well. I made a lot of trips to IKEA and I think I have to make one more trip.

My First Order....for myself ;-)

My first order came in today. Than goodness I was home to receive them. I was so excited but I couldn't do anything until Connor went down for his nap. It was TORTURE!!!

Guess who was able to play with the box even before me.

Ahhhhh.....finally opened and unpacked but now to unwrap and put them away in my shelves.

Another video

Another one of Arvin's creations starring none other than my cutie patootie.

Wedding Video

My nephew back in Toronto is just starting up his video editing company. I really don't have to say much because the video just says it all. He's absolutely amazing. Check it out. I have to add that not only does he edit the videos but he's the one who films it as well.

For all of my Toronto contacts, feel free to e-mail me for his contact details.

The Little Monkey

As you all know, my husband and I traded rooms or I should say my husband has given up his office for me and he has taken up room in our bedroom closet (my old scrapbooking space).

I still have to organize everything but there is one huge obstacle...and it comes in the form of a little monkey named Connor...my 9 month old son. I'm trying to figure out what should be kept in the bottom shelves that are not so valuable...so that he doesn't destroy it.

Feel free to check out Connor's blog.
